Senate Passes Patient Safety Bill

After a year long roadblock, the Senate unanimously passed a patient safety bill. The bill calls for voluntary reporting of medical errors and treats such reports as confidential and undiscoverable. The House passed a similar, but not identical, bill in 2003. Conference on the two bills is expected this fall. Please use the link below to read the Senate bill.
