As advocates for patients and physicians, the Alliance of Specialty
Medicine is intimately involved in the modernization, renovation
and transformation of the Medicare program. Every day federal law
and regulations dictate almost every aspect of a physician’s
practice, including where, how and why a patient can be seen; what
treatments can be utilized; how much and when a physician will
receive reimbursement; and many administrative requirements. The
Alliance is committed to insuring that older and disabled Americans
continue to have access to timely, high quality medical care while
physicians are reimbursed fairly and accurately for the services
they provide.
Currently, the Alliance’s Medicare efforts
focus on two general areas, with other issues arising on occasion:
Medicare
Physician Payment
Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement
and Modernization Act of 2003
Additional Medicare Issues
